Let the Writing Begin
Why do writers fight their muse
Leaving words in their mind like unbinned refuse?
Words that could be written for posterity.
Why do we writers start work late
Feeding the urge to procrastinate.
And when words in our heads try to escape, close the mind’s door.
A writer is rarely their own best friend
When it comes to their work.
They’d rather sit and chew a pen
Or anything else that allows them to shirk their writing duties
Yet when they do decide to start
Letting the words flow free
Lexical beauties pour from the hearts of writers who try not to be.
